Fun at Liberty Park (video)
To prepare for our camping trip to Flaming Gorge with brother George for the Fourth of July, we headed to Diamond Fork Canyon. You may remember that this was the same canyon we hiked in March 2007, slipping and sliding our way up an icy trail to a hot spring. This time, our "dry run" was far from dry, continuing the theme of rainy Memorial Day weekends (see last year's post). A few oversights added to the experience: no poles for the tent, a missing connector for the camp stove, and a stubbornly uninflatable air mattress. We still managed to have (soggy) fun, though. A mercifully close K-mart provided a new tent, and you'd be amazed what you can do with charcoal! Carmen slept like a champ, but mom and dad had a hard time on the ground.
