August Update

For those of you who have been in Carmen withdrawal for the past month, here are some of her latest looks. Scroll down for video proof that she's now walking on her own!

Pioneer Day 2009

July 24 is a remarkable and distinctive holiday in Utah celebrating the date when the main group of Mormon pioneers first arrived in the valley. The (very long) parade celebrating the occasion is a mix of religion, ethnic pride, antique cars, high school bands, and horses.

Tongan dancers and brass band

The ubiquitous bees

The Latter-Day Saints celebrate their missionary efforts.

Mama's Temple (not to be confused with the one downtown) always rolls out their gospel choir.
