Chris's first Father's Day

Our triumphal return to Little Cottonwood Canyon. Not to be beaten by the horrible Memorial Day weather, we went back to the same campground and spent the day at a great site around the bend from where we went with Anna and Adam. The weather was 100% better, and the site itself was pretty spectacular.
Carmen is overwhelmed by the grandeur.

The dads kick back while Abuelita and little Carmen chill in the tent.

A proud papa
Lukie and Tito have their first camping experience.
Joe and Chris take Tito on his quest to discover snow (not in abundance in Guatemala) and find it further up the canyon in Alta.
Tito discovers first-hand, through an ingenious experimental method, that melting snow has a consistency different from rock. A few minutes before this picture was taken, he was in that hole. Luckily the stream rushing underneath was shallow, and he landed on the chunk of ice that gave way beneath him. We hope that his life has been enriched by the experience.
More good times at the campsite (even if Carmen's getting a little cranky)
As evening falls, Christina's maternal instincts make sure that Carmen has no chance of catching a chill. Gotta love the hat!
